News from the Radiator

A day of planning and far too much Cherry Pie…

We finished the slightly overcomplicated, but clear, plans for the live setlist today.  Consisting of diagrams showing which band member plays what instrument and which laptop does what…I think we’ll be organising a practice as soon as our drummer, Ben gets back off holiday next week!

When you have been working on recording a bunch of songs for 6 months there’s always a nervous desperation to hear how they sound played live so we’re really looking forward to it.  The sooner the better, we want to get gigging while people are still paying attention to us, and we want to make them some of the best gigs we have ever played!

Finally …

Tonight we finished recording all of the vocals for our new song ‘Devil’s Little Finger’..

This means that now I can get down to the nitty gritty mixing and editing but I’m hoping to get it up on the Myspace within the next week!  Being the collaboration track with Bozo from Beatbullyz it’s all exciting stuff!

Any hope of doing gigs before September has unfortunately been killed due to work schedules over summer but we’re planning to have our first practice of the live set next week..it’s going to be a lot of fun and a very exciting hearing the songs we have been working on for the past 6 months played live!

We’ll also be sending CDs out to various people in the coming weeks, so here’s to the speed-up of all things so we can get gigging as soon as possible and writing/recording more and more!

Exciting Things…

So today was a big day in the Jeanie camp!

We had been looking for a rapper for some time to spit a verse on one of our new songs ‘Devil’s Little Finger’ (which you can hear in the background of our Jeanie in the Kitchen youtube video!) and managed to get in touch with Bozo from Beatbullyz.  After seeing them perform on the Hollyoaks Music Show a few weeks ago Hollie asked if he would be interested in a collaboration and he said he’d be well up for it!

After hearing the track he said he really liked it and had written some bars for it so we organised to meet in the studio in Manchester to record today!

All of our other songs have been recorded at my house so it was nice to hear the new track in the amazing SSL studio at Futureworks College..

Bozo was a top guy, spat fire and I think it has really taken the track to a new level!  We’ll be working on it more in the coming weeks and we look forward to getting it up on the Myspace and hearing what people think.  Beatbullyz are doing really well at the moment so it’s been great to get involved with them and put our heads together over this track!

Hello there…

We have decided to start this blog as a way of documenting all things ‘Jeanie in the Radiator’, hopefully it is a vaguely interesting read..

To avoid confusion, we are an Alternative Pop band from Manchester and you can find us on Myspace at www.myspace.com/jeanieintheradiator

As things move slowly but surely in the right direction for us we will be updating this page so that, if you are at all interested, you can read about the more interesting things we get up to as we record new songs and prepare for gigs etc!

And if you don’t like it, at least we have something to remind us of our trip in to the mad world of music..
